Claritin D is used to relieve hay fever and allergy symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, and red, itchy, tearing eyes. Claritin D is in a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. Claritin-D may cause less drowsiness than other antihistamines.

Claritin-D comes as a tablet to take by mouth. 12 Hour Tablet: One tablet twice a day (every 12 hours); 24 Hour Tablet: One tablet daily taken with a full glass of water. You should not to break or chew the tablet and you should take the 24 hour tablet with a full glass of water.

Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or claritin performing other hazardous activities. Although unlikely, Claritin may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities.

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly closed container, buy claritin away from heat and moisture. If you miss a dose of this medicine and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Do not claritin side effects exceed the recommended dose or take this medicine more often than directed. Do not take this medicine for several days before allergy testing since test results can be affected. Caution should be used in the elderly since they may be more claritin sensitive to the effects of this drug.

CLARITIN D SIDE EFFECTS

Before taking Claritin-D, tell your doctor if you have asthma or another lung disease; diabetes; thyroid problems; glaucoma or increased pressure in the eye; urinary retention or an enlarged prostate; narrowing of the esophagus or gastrointestinal tract or difficulty swallowing; kidney or liver disease; or heart disease, high blood pressure, or an irregular heartbeat. You may not be able to take Claritin-D, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above. Claritin-D is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that it is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not take Claritin-D without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant. Claritin-D passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing baby. Do not take Claritin-D without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Claritin-D has not been approved for use by children younger than 12 years of age.

Seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of a Claritin-D overdose include headache, drowsiness, an irregular heartbeat, nausea and vomiting, sweating, increased thirst, weakness, and restlessness.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose cheap claritin and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
